Annual Beagle Paws Awareness Day The great students of Carbonear Collegiate joined forces again this year to put off another fantastic Beagle Paws Awareness Day.  All with the help of their teacher Anne Whalen and her adopted beagele "Missy". The students held a bake sale entertained with music and a whole lot more.  THANKS guys !!   Spring Ticket Draw Winners On Sat. June 19th the winners of our Spring Fever ticket draw were announced. 1st Prize:  Gertie Sheppard Ticket # 0341 2nd Prize: Robyn Thistle Ticket # 0463 Click here to see the list of prizes Friends for the Beagles - British Columbia Emma Hamblin teamed up with her friend Rebecca Quiding in British Columbia to raise money for Beagle Paws. The two girls setup a refreshment stand and provided information to visitors about our group. They did such a great job that they raised over $90 to help the beagles. This money will be applied directly to our vet account at Newton Animal Hospital where we plan to use the money to spay/neuter a beagle in need. May 8, 1pm - 5pm Pet Zone Kenmount Rd., St. John's, NL Thank you to all our volunteers and everyone who attended our 1st "Adopt-A-Beagle" Day, it was a great success. JUSTICE for Dougie - RESULTS On April 15th, Wade Greeley was acquitted of charges under the Animal Control Act of NL. The judge could not determine beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Greeley was guilty of beating a Beagle Paws beagle named "Dougie" on Sept. 17, 2009. On a brighter note we are happy to report that Dougie is living a great life with his new family in Alberta
